Review:
Estee Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion ($47.40) delivers exactly what it promises: it perfects, smooths, softens and refreshes the skin. Intensive Softening Lotion definitely has a lot to offer all skin types. It is filled with antioxidants, soothing plant extracts and moisture-binding ingredients, and is alcohol and irritant free. This toner does contain fragrance, however, it is listed far enough down the ingredients list for it to not be a concern. The fragrance scent is also barely noticeable. This unique lotion is also flecked with gold; however, you are not left with any unwanted sparkle on your skin (refer to photo below). If you have metal allergies than this product may be a problem, however, if you don't have any metal allergies, then even the most sensitive skin types will find that Estee Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion to be non-irritating. My only critique of the Intensive Softening Lotion is its packaging! This fantastic lotion is housed in a clear plastic bottle, so be sure to store it away from sunlight in order to protect the efficacy of the many antioxidants and plant extracts. I unknowingly stored my second bottle of Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion on my vanity, and the results were just not the same! So be sure to store away from sunlight.

Estee Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion has a very gel-like and creamy feel, is non-sticky and your skin instantly feels soft, supple and hydrated. It is more than just a toner, it is the first step to preparing your skin for serum and moisturiser. Using this toner twice a day, morning and night, will help maintain the optimum oil/moisture balance. Following cleansing, this toner restores moisture and removes all traces of makeup. The Intensive Softening Lotion can also be used in the place of cleaner in the mornings to remove your night-time treatments and any dirt build-up. Using this toner in the morning will instantly refresh and moisturise your skin and will create a smooth canvas for makeup application. What you can expect from using the Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion is smooth, well hydrated, firmer and more even-toned skin.

Verdict:
If you don’t mind the price tag, and your current toner isn’t doing much for your skin, then Estee Lauder’s Re-Nutriv Intensive Softening Lotion has visible rewards! It makes your skin glow and gives it a softness that I have never experienced from using just a toner. Intensive Softening Lotion is addictive and for good reason: it works!

Thinking of this product as a toner is, perhaps, a bit of a misunderstanding. I think of it as the first step in moisturisation. It does exactly what it says it is: It softens the skin after cleansing. It leaves your skin glowing without the tightness and is a great "base" for serum. It is packed with great ingredients, and my skin really does look and feel amazing since I have started to use the re-nutriv intensive softening lotion. Highly recommend as the first step to every skin care routine.
